Highlights

  • The new World of Warcraft expansion will introduce a bag with an attribute buff, potentially leading to more unique effects in the future.

The next World of Warcraft The expansion is introducing an inventory bag with an attribute bonus, opening up the possibility for future bags to offer different buffs and special effects to player characters when equipped. While World of Warcraft has enjoyed recent popularity with its Season of Discovery on Classic servers, the retail version of the game is at a major crossroads. With Dragon-fly coming to an end, the Worldsoul Saga is expected to begin with the release of The war within before the end of 2024.

Many evergreen resources are expected to arrive in The inner war, the most exciting of which appears to be the Warband system. Warbands will finally unify World of Warcraft characters, regardless of faction or kingdom, on a player’s account, allowing them to enjoy shared resource progression such as new reputations and Renown tracks. It will also have a shared bank for players to easily transfer items between their alts, further supported by the inclusion of several Warband-linked items.

World of Warcraft Adding Stats to Bags in The War Within

One such item appears to be the Arathor Courier’s Satchel, a new type of inventory bag that comes with 32 slots but also a special effect when equipped. In other words, it will increase movement speed by 3% when moving outdoors in Khaz Algar. Khaz Algar is the new continent introduced in The war withinand will have four World of Warcraft zones at launch. The new inventory bag was spotted by Wowhead and reported by several players on social media.

Interestingly, the bag appears to have unique equipment, meaning that World of Warcraft players will not be able to stack their movement speed bonus – at least not initially. It’s quite possible that the Arathor Courier backpack is intended to test the feasibility of adding similar bags in the future. While the bags are World of Warcraft will likely never have important stat bonuses like Critical Strike Chance, having non-combat related buffs like increased food duration or reputation gain could help Tailoring gain a new niche as a World of Warcraft profession.

Although it may take some time to World of Warcraft players can get the Arathor Courier backpack and enjoy its cool bonus, they won’t have to wait long. Final Dragon-fly patch released on May 7th and introduced the prologue chapter for The war within, bringing favorite characters like Khadgar and Alleria back into the spotlight. Although the exact release date of The war within remains unknown, many fans believe that Blizzard intends to release the new World of Warcraft expansion in August 2024.
