RICHMOND, Va. (May 9, 2024) – Three more CAA champions will be crowned, postseason play will ramp up and an important weekend in the CAA baseball race awaits.

Softball | Championship Central
The CAA Softball Championship enters its second day following wins by UNCW, Stony Brook and Hofstra on the first day of tournament action. For complete championship coverage, visit CAASports.com/Softball.

Athletics | Championship Central

The CAA men’s and women’s track and field championships begin Friday at the Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex in Elon, North Carolina. For complete championship coverage, visit CAASports.com/OTF.

Baseball | To schedule
With two conference weekends remaining and four CAA Baseball Championship spots still up for grabs, there are several big series available starting Friday. Highlighting the slate is a matchup between two teams that are not only looking for a CAA title, but also NCAA Tournament berths, as Charleston (34-11, 16-4 CAA) hosts Northeastern (33- 13, 14 -7CAA). Fourth-seeded Delaware (25-21, 12-9 CAA) and fifth-seeded Stony Brook (23-23, 11-10 CAA) face off on Long Island with both teams looking to secure a spot in the CAA Tournament. First-place UNCW (33-16, 17-4 CAA) welcomes a Hofstra team (20-28, 10-11 CAA) that has won three consecutive series. Rounding out the slate, Towson (13-36, 3-17 CAA) travels to William & Mary (27-21, 10-11 CAA), Monmouth (16-25, 9-12 CAA) is at home against Campbell (27- 20, 8-13 CAA) and Elon (19-28, 8-13) make a short trip to North Carolina A&T (23-25, 7-14 CAA).

Rowing | To schedule
All eyes are on the Cooper River a week before the CAA Championships when the Dad Vail Regatta sends Delaware, Drexel and Monmouth to the water in Pennsauken.

Women’s lacrosse

The two CAA women’s lacrosse teams in the NCAA Tournament begin play on Friday. No. 14 Stony Brook is in Syracuse to face Niagara at 2 p.m., while No. 22 Drexel faces No. 18 Princeton out of Boston at 4 p.m. Both games can be seen on ESPN+.

Men’s lacrosse

No. 12 Towson returns to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday night when the Tigers visit the dome for a showdown with No. 4 Syracuse. The 7:30 pm game will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Golf

The NCAA men’s golf regionals begin Monday with CAA champions Charleston in West Lafayette, Indiana, to play in a regional hosted by Purdue. Closer to home, Campbell’s Erik Johansson and UNCW Walker Isley will play individually in Chapel Hill.

On the women’s side, UNCW will play in the National Golf Invitational in Maricopa, Arizona. The 54-hole event begins Friday.
