TEDxSavannah to Host Event May 16 at GS Armstrong Campus, Featuring Speakers, Live Entertainment and More
TEDx is a program of self-organized local events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks videos and live speakers combine to generate deep discussions and connections. A lineup of 12 speakers, including Georgia Southern’s Steve Hein, will address the topic of “Convergence” from a variety of perspectives in thoughtful, professionally trained talks designed to resonate deeply with the Savannah community.
TEDxSavannah – an independently organized, half-day celebration of ideas worth sharing – will host the 13th annual edition TEDxSavannah event in Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 1 to 5 pm in the Fine Arts Auditorium on Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Campus, located at 11935 Abercorn St.
The TEDxSavannah theme for 2024 is Convergence. Twelve speakers will address the topic from a variety of perspectives in thoughtful, professionally trained talks designed to resonate deeply with the Savannah community. Additionally, TEDxSavannah 2024 will feature live entertainment as well as a speaker meet-and-greet immediately following the main event.
“We can’t wait for our speakers to share ideas worth sharing with audiences across the greater Savannah area,” said Karla Jennings, TEDxSavannah organizing committee member and speaker coach, who gave a talk at TEDxSavannah in 2018. “TEDxSavannah 2024 speakers will explore a wide range of topics and offer creative solutions to community challenges.”

TEDxSavannah received more than 150 speaker applications for the 2024 event. Each selected speaker will deliver a thought-provoking talk influenced by the event theme and related to topics affecting the Savannah community. The live talks will be filmed and posted to the TEDx Talks YouTube channel after the event.
Guided by the mission to share ideas worth spreading, TEDxSavannah welcomes the public to enjoy live presentations from area residents, TED Talk videos designed to generate in-depth discussions, and live presentations.
General admission tickets are on sale for $50, which includes seating, on-site parking, snacks, coffee, and entry to the on-site speaker meet and greet event immediately following TEDxSavannah 2024. Discounted tickets are available for educators, students and first responders. , active military and non-profits for $40. VIP tickets are also available for $75, which include priority seating and a special VIP badge.
