Innovative, easy-to-use solution for the rapidly growing remote patient monitoring and chronic care management markets

TAMPA, Florida, May 5, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Smart Meter, leading provider of remote cellular patient monitoring (RPM) solutions, launched a new version of iGlucose, its patented mobile-connected glucose meter, used by more than 200,000 people with diabetes since 2019. The redesigned model, branded as iGlucose Morehas many unique and advanced features that revolutionize the remote blood glucose monitoring market and improve millions of patients’ access to highly accurate diabetes management technology.

iGlucose More is an innovative, easy-to-use glucose meter that requires no syncing, pairing, smartphone or Wi-Fi. It automatically transmits results to the patient’s doctor using integrated cellular technology, enabling real-time tracking of blood glucose levels from anywhere.

The new iGlucose More allows patients to receive important notifications and reminders, both automated and proactively sent by a healthcare provider or supplier, directly to their device. Notifications can include dietary reminders designed to help patients make better food choices or reminders to pick up prescriptions at a pharmacy. iGlucose More features a bright, full-color LED screen that allows for easier viewing of test instructions and results, leading to better patient satisfaction and adherence to testing guidelines. iGlucose More is available with on-screen prompts in Spanish, providing better access to care for a largely underserved patient population. With over-the-air software updates via cellular connectivity, iGlucose Plus has the ability to add new features at the patient level.

“Smart Meter continues to invest heavily in R&D to improve our solutions and make it easier for patients to test more consistently and improve their results. The new iGlucose More is a prime example of this,” said Casey Pittock, CEO of Smart Meter. “Its improved battery life, stronger cellular connectivity, and remote programmability – combined with our proprietary wireless-driven automatic glucose test strip refill service AI – make it an exceptional value for our customers and their patients.”

With approximately 5 million people with diabetes living in rural areas, it’s important that their doctors have a way to regularly monitor their blood glucose levels. Why iGlucose More uses cellular networks to send results immediately, these patients can receive the proper attention they need without having to make as many office visits. In a Howard University study of diabetes patients who used iGlucose®, 70% of high-risk participants reduced their A1c by an average of 2.8% in 90 days1.

The new iGlucose More will be on display at the American Telemedicine Association trade show in Phoenix, Arizona, May 5-7, at Smart Meter booth #1007.
