The studio aims to raise awareness with its cat rescue game, while also donating and volunteering at stray cat shelters. Accelix (CEO Kimin Kim) announced its participation in the 2024 PlayX4 B2B at KINTEX Hall 1 in Ilsan from May 23 to 26.

Accelix is ​​an independent game development team founded in November 2023. It started by exploring whether games could provide social impact beyond fun. With fun as a top priority, they aim to develop games that positively impact society beyond mere entertainment.

To realize its vision of igniting a small spark of awareness about social issues through games, Accelix discovers the seeds of social issue ideas and expands them into game concepts. The ongoing development of ‘Mission Meow’ also stemmed from raising awareness about stray cats.

Additionally, Accelix collaborates with organizations such as stray cat shelters, donating a portion of game profits and designating every Tuesday as ‘Social Day’ for morning volunteering, fulfilling its social responsibility.

Its achievements include completing a promotional game development project for BHC Chicken’s new menu, ‘SOMACHI Chicken’, in collaboration with TMCK, which secured approximately 13,500 participants during the event period from April 18 to April 1 of May.

At this year’s PlayX4, they plan to showcase their newly developed title, Meow Mission. Meow Mission is a game that combines puzzles and cat breeding simulation. Players solve Sokoban puzzles of varying difficulty levels to reach lost cats. After reaching the cats, players can rescue them from the crisis through minigames. Additionally, rescued cats can be cared for or played with at the base, revealing hidden stories.

All feline characters in the game are designed based on cats from the ‘Nabiya Saranghae’ stray cat shelter. With this, they intend to introduce stray cats to people and promote adoption. Additionally, Accelix plans to donate part of the game’s proceeds to the stray cat shelter. This way, players can play to rescue cats while helping real cats in need.

Accelix stated: “We will present game demos to users at Play Expo and welcome feedback to improve the game. Additionally, we plan to offer our homemade products (stickers, keychains and Korot) to users who follow the game’s Instagram account.” They also revealed the history of the exhibition: “Our broader goal is to present the game to various national and international buyers and discuss publishing or investment contracts.”

Furthermore, they said, “We are considering publishing in the United States and Japan and want to introduce ‘Mission Meow’ to animal-loving global users through cooperation with animal protection agencies in those countries.” They added: “After Play Expo, we plan to attend BIC. Additionally, we will continue with crowdfunding through Tumblbug.”

‘2024 PlayX4 B2B’, organized by Gyeonggi Content Agency and KINTEX, is themed ‘More than just the joy of gaming’ and features exhibitions and new game experiences from Korean and international game companies. Visitors can enjoy side programs such as the retro gaming market, esports competitions and cosplay events.
