Polish cat food producer expands amid rising export sales

Polish cat food producer 3coty is introducing new products to its portfolio, as increased exports are driving the company’s increased sales, according to the brand’s founders.

Marcin Kindler, co-founder of 3coty, told Petfoodindustry.com that together with his partner and brand co-founder, Agnieszka Sobczyńska, they decided to make high-quality cat food after discovering that their cat had severe food allergies and was deeply ill.

“We started making cat food for our allergy cats and later started providing it to our cat fancier friends,” Kindler said. “Their cats were enjoying it, so we gradually increased our production capabilities. We now have a factory in Pruszków, close to the capital, Warsaw.”

“I am a biochemist by training and Agnieszka is a graphic designer who developed the design of our brand. We continue to introduce new products to our offer. Most recently, we launched a range of pet food for seniors, we are now introducing our range of Care products and also Cheers soups for cats, among others,” she said.

Sobczyńska said the brand’s monoprotein and duoprotein cat food is ideal for cats with diabetes and various types of allergies, and comes in packages weighing up to 1.2 kg (2.6 lbs.) which “is perfect for cat breeders or large cats.” . We manufacture super premium cat food 100% based on poultry meat. We buy this meat from established Polish producers.”

“I spent a lot of time as a cat judge, as well as owning a cat show winner, and have always been interested in cat genetics. I know how important it is that cats are fed natural food, free from preservatives and fillers,” she said. “We now own six cats, the youngest of which has been fed 3coty from the start.”

3coty is working to increase its presence in the Polish market, but the majority of the company’s sales are generated by exports.

“We sell to Nordic countries such as Sweden, Finland and Denmark, as well as France, Italy, but also to Asian markets including Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea,” said Kindler. “We also have individual customers from the United States and Canada. We would be very interested in partnering with a distributor active in these two markets.”

The factory in Pruszków has a surface area of around 400 m2. (4,300 m2), half of which is occupied by production and the remainder is used for warehouses and offices.

“We would like to eventually expand this facility as we could use more space as we grow. We use renewable energy from photovoltaic energy to make our production activities environmentally friendly”, says Kindler.
