The No. 20 Boston University men’s lacrosse team will try to win its second conference title in three years when the fourth-seeded Terriers face second-seeded Lehigh in the 2024 Patriot League title game on Sunday afternoon at Army West Point’s Michie Stadium. The game is scheduled for 12pm, broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network.

TOURNAMENT HISTORY

• The Terriers have qualified for the semi-finals in all but one of their seven tournament appearances and this is their second trip to the PL title game.
• BU is 7-5 all-time in the conference tournament.
• This is the first time BU has been ranked fourth; the Terriers placed 3rd in 2017 and 2019 and 6th in 2018.
• The 2021 Patriot League Tournament did not utilize the traditional structure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

TERRIER Snacks

• The Terriers advanced to Sunday’s championship game thanks to their second postseason overtime victory as a graduate student Jake Cates scored 23 seconds into overtime to lead BU to an 11-10 victory over first-ranked and No. 11 Army West Point on Friday.
• It was the Terriers’ third consecutive victory and fifth consecutive one-goal game.
• Graduated student Louis Perfectto led BU with four points (1g, 3a), including the assist on Cates’ game-winner and two points (1g, 1a) in the fourth quarter.
• Perfetto enters Sunday ranked second in the country in both points per game (5.63) and total points (90).
• He has recorded at least three points in all but one game and has averaged 6.0 points per game over the last seven games, including 21 points (8g, 13a) over the last three games.
• Graduated student Vicente D’Alto scored three goals on Friday and enters Sunday ranked second among the Terriers in goals (41), assists (30) and points (71).
• Junior Brenden Kelly scored his 40th goal of the season on Friday, making BU the only school in the country to produce three 40-goal scorers this season.
• Graduated student Roy Meyer scored a key goal late in the fourth quarter after securing one of his five ground balls, and also led BU with three caused turnovers against the Black Knights.
• Meyer leads BU with 28 total turnovers and is second on the team with 69 ground balls, one behind the junior faceoff specialist Matthew Fritz.
• Fritz went 13 of 20 against PL Faceoff Specialist of the Year Will Coletti on Friday and led BU with six ground balls.

HISTORY AGAINST LEHIGH

• BU is 4-8 all-time against Lehigh and has won three of the last four meetings.
• Lehigh earned a 13-12 overtime victory over the Terriers in Bethlehem on April 20.
• BU is 2-1 all-time against Lehigh in the Patriot League Tournament, including an overtime victory in the 2022 Patriot League semifinals.
• Five of the last seven games have been decided by just one goal.

LISTENING TO THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS

• The Mountain Hawks advanced to Sunday’s title game with a 12-8 victory over Navy, which was their fifth consecutive victory since April 6.
• Senior Scott Cole leads Lehigh with 38 goals and 46 points, including three goals and an assist against Navy on Friday.
• Sophomore Andrew Kelly (22g, 14a) is first on Lehigh with 14 assists and also has 36 points, which is tied for second on the team with senior Quinn Armstrong (28g, 8a).
• Sophomore Richard Checo leads Lehigh with 41 caused turnovers and is second on the team with 57 ground balls.
• Checo recorded eight turnovers and eight ground balls in Friday’s victory over Marinha.
• Junior Sean Dow is first at Lehigh with 98 ground balls.
• He has won 56.8% of face-offs this season, including 13 of the 24 he played on Friday.
• Senior Nick Pecora made 10 saves in Friday’s semifinal victory.
• He started all 15 games for Lehigh, posting a .522 save percentage and a 10.84 goals-against average.
