Jordan Knight Gives Tough Business Advice to Brother Jonathan in ‘Farmhouse Fixer: Camp Revamp’ (Exclusive)


Jonathan Knight has to face some harsh realities about starting a business in the new episode of Farmhouse Fixer: Campsite Makeover.

The New Kids on the Block star’s home renovation spinoff series on HGTV follows his journey as he tries to transform an abandoned 12-acre campground in New Hampshire into a vacation destination in six months. In an exclusive first look at Tuesday’s episode (above), Jonathan, 55, meets up with his brother Jordan Knight to get some business advice after a tree falls on one of the cabins on the property.

“If I were to fix this, it would probably be about $20,000 more than it would cost to build a whole new structure,” Jonathan told Jordan, 54, over coffee at his younger brother’s Italian restaurant, Novara, in Milton , Massachusetts. heart.”

Jonathan tells his brother and NKOTB bandmate that he would rather restore the old cabin than demolish it — no matter the extra cost. But it’s not a smart business decision and Jordan doesn’t mince words to let his brother know.

“What I learned from doing business,” says Jordan, “you really want to make the hard decision to not spend that much money.

Jonathan says, torn, that dismantling the old structure will “destroy me,” though Jordan reminds him that every expense in running a business — be it a restaurant, a live music tour or a potential vacation resort — adds up.

After giving Jonathan his unfiltered opinion, Jordan asks if he made any projections about potential costs or revenue, to which his older brother replies, “No, in my heart I know it’s going to work and people are going to come.”

Jordan lists several other aspects of the business, such as finding employees, researching competitors, and creating a logo. After that, Jonathan confesses, “Wow, I sound like a real idiot—right now. I don’t know how much I’ve spent so far, I don’t know who I’m going to hire, I don’t know what demographics are going to come here, I think I’m losing my mind.”

He laughs, before adding: “I don’t even have a computer.”

In an exclusive interview in May, Jonathan told People that he always dreamed of owning a hospitality business, whether it was a guesthouse or a boutique hotel.

“I fell in love when I saw [the campground] and I jumped at the chance to make this dream come true. We definitely took on a lot with this, but it was just a great opportunity and I knew I had to do it,” he said.

Jonathan and Jordan – along with NKOTB members Danny Wood, Donnie Wahlberg and Joey McIntyre – are currently performing across the country on their 2024 Magic Summer Tour. In May the band also released Still childrentheir first full-length studio album in 11 years.
