I found my cat stuck in the wall after a botched repair

Curiosity captured the cat.

TikTok user Mariah Vanessa, also known as @mv.esco, shared the harrowing story of her wayward kitten who became trapped inside a wall after a repairman patched a hole in her bathroom.

In a 33-second clip posted on May 16, the California resident screams because her cat is trapped inside the wall behind her bathroom.

“This is literally so crazy they patched my cat to the wall,” Vanessa said in the clip with over 10,700 views.

She starts hitting the wall with a metal rod to create an opening for her kitten. After a few hard strokes, she opens the hole big enough for your cat to escape.

“I wish I was joking,” she captioned the video.

However, it takes some time to convince the black cat to come out of hiding. She baits the feline with a cat bite near the opening of the hole.

“Brix, come here,” she called to the cat. “Come here.”

As the video continues, a black cat slowly emerges from the darkness and walks towards the food.

“I’m sorry,” Vanessa sighs.

The cat’s mother was not the only one to feel remorse over the feline’s arrest. Nearly 70 concerned TikTokers commented below the video, surprised by the situation.

“Oh my god! You’re the second person I’ve seen this happen to. I’m so sorry,” wrote one TikToker.

“Absolutely not, I’m causing a whole scene,” added another.

“It’s like the movie we… this isn’t Brix anymore,” joked one viewer.

“No, they did it on purpose. There’s no way,” demanded a woman.

But surprisingly, Brix isn’t the only cat trapped behind a wall.

Previously reported by The Post, a Pennsylvania woman said she was forced to rescue her pet cat after maintenance workers allegedly sealed the poor kitty inside her wall during a repair job gone wrong.

“I really can’t believe the maintenance crew trapped my cat in the damn wall!!” the TikToker wrote. “I feel so bad he was probably so scared.”

It seems to be a recurring trend for felines to get trapped behind drywall. Another cat owner noticed his cat was missing for three days in 2022 after being sealed in the wall.

“As I sit here trying to figure out where my cat is, I can hear him crying somewhere around here,” the cat mom said.

Either maintenance workers need to add more preventive measures before sealing walls, or cats need to learn to stay away from large holes.
