Hulu, Disney plus bundle with Max available this summer


Disney Entertainment and Warner Bros.  Discovery announce new streaming services this summer.

A new streaming bundle is coming this summer, Disney Entertainment and Warner Bros. announced.

Disney+, Hulu and Max will be available as a package on any of the three platforms with ad options and free subscriptions to be announced soon.

“On the heels of the very successful launch of Hulu on Disney+, this new bundle with Max will offer subscribers even more choice and value,” said Joe Earley, president direct-to-consumer, Disney Entertainment in the release.

“This incredible new partnership puts subscribers first by giving them access to blockbuster films, originals and three huge libraries of today’s best brands and streaming entertainment.”

“Streaming services will be offered together, providing subscribers with the best value in entertainment,” Disney announced in its statement, with an “unprecedented selection” that includes (but is not limited to):

  • FX
  • HBO
  • HGTV

JB Perrette, CEO and president of global streaming and gaming at Warner Bros. Discovery said the new package helps with “stronger retention” and “presents a powerful new roadmap for the future of the industry.”

Additional details will be shared in the coming days, the statement says.

ESPN, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery also form a joint streaming service

Several streaming giants, including ESPN, Fox and Warner Bros.  Discovery, are teaming up to form a sports streaming service.

This fall, ESPN, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery will also team up to offer sports fans a new package, USA TODAY reported in February.

The package will cover all major sports, including NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL games.

Just like the Disney Entertainment and Warner Bros. package. Discovery, this one doesn’t yet have pricing information or a specific release date, but it’s yet another acknowledgment of the fragmentation of the cable TV package as more consumers gravitate toward streaming, USA TODAY reported.

For several years, professional sports led other live programming as key to preserving the cable TV ecosystem, but it has lost more than 25% of its subscriber base in recent years, USA TODAY’s Gary Levin reported.
