Flottweg Separation Technology celebrates grand opening of new 15,000-square-foot facility in Boone County – NKyTribune

Flottweg Separation Technology Inc., a producer of centrifuges and other liquid-solid separation equipment, celebrated the grand opening Tuesday of its newly expanded warehouse in Boone County, a $1.75 million investment that created 12 jobs high-wage earners in Kentucky.

“Flottweg has nearly two decades of established business in the United States,” said Dan Ellis, president of Flottweg’s American business unit. “Having installed more than 12,000 machines worldwide, we are confident that with this expansion we will be able to continue to grow the US market as we have done so far. Ensuring our customers are successful is our main goal. We look forward to using this space to further ensure superior quality across all facilities.”

In May 2022, Flottweg leaders announced a reinvestment in the company’s Northern Kentucky operation, which assembles and repairs machines for the company’s existing customer base. The recently completed expansion – the company’s fourth since 2011 – came in response to growing demand and will accommodate increased parts manufacturing. Additionally, the opening will bring into operation the company’s new 15,000 square foot warehouse at the current Flottweg campus on Toebben Drive.

Founded in 2006, Flottweg Separation Technology is a subsidiary of Flottweg SE, founded in Germany in 1932. Flottweg SE has become a global technology leader in the production of centrifuges, belt presses and separators used for liquid-solid separation. The company’s products serve a variety of industries, including the mining, petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and machining sectors. Its products also have environmental uses, including treating wastewater or oil sludge.

Last month, Governor Beshear, First Lady Britainy Beshear, Cabinet Secretary for Economic Development Jeff Noel and other staff members visited Germany to meet with companies and business organizations to determine future investment opportunities and job creation in the state. The visit included attendance at the Hannover Messe trade fair and talks at the Hanse Lounge in Hamburg and the IHK Düsseldorf, while the Kentucky delegation met with the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Kentucky’s existing employers and potential customers.
