Kristian Calvin Rogers of Vacaville was inducted into the Northwest Mathematics Honor Society Mu Alpha Theta on April 18

The Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society at Northwest Mississippi Community College inducted six new members at its annual induction ceremony on April 18 in the Mathematics and Science Building on the Senatobia campus.

Among those inducted this semester was Kristian Calvin Rogers of Vacaville. To qualify for the honor, students must show excellence in mathematics, such as a 3.0 GPA or higher in college algebra or upper-level math courses if the student was not a member of Mu Alpha Theta in high school.

“Mu Alpha Theta is a national honor society for students who have excelled in their math courses,” said Jennifer Jones, Northwest math instructor. “Students must meet academic qualifications for induction into Mu Alpha Theta. Each of our 2024 initiates is dedicated to academic studies and is very deserving of this honor. I enjoyed getting to know these students and wish them success in the future.”
