OWINGS MILLS, Md. — A cat hiding under a car was attacked with rocks.
We brought you this case of animal cruelty in May. While the cat is recovering, the owners want justice.
Now, there is an open arrest warrant against the person.

It’s been a long road to recovery for Greyson, a one-year-old furry companion to a family living in Owings Mills.
Sitting in his favorite spot looking out the window. It’s something Linda Smithery, whose daughter owns the cat, didn’t think would happen again after an incident in May.
“He’s not going to be the same as he was before. He has permanent damage,” Smithery said.
A neighbor’s Ring video showed someone who lives a few doors down walking past Linda’s house and throwing rocks under a parked car.
“After he threw the rocks, Greyson was sitting right there on that little curb. Blood was coming out of both his eyes. He couldn’t move,” Linda said.
Greyson had a broken jaw, both eye sockets burst, and needed a feeding tube. Almost two months later, his jaw is still not straight and he is blind in his left eye. He can eat on his own again, a step in his daily recovery.
The next step is surgery.
“The dentist told us they would have to remove all his teeth so he could close his mouth and I was worried about how he would be able to eat after that, and the surgeon told us cats don’t need teeth to eat,” Linda said.
Linda said they never spoke to these neighbors.
The non-profit organization In Defense of Animals got wind of what happened. They are an international animal rights organization that started a petition saying that the charges filed are not strong enough. So far, they have over 10,000 supporters.
“They were very upset because they had sent information, written information, to the police department, contacted the police department and felt like they weren’t getting any response,” Doll Stanley said after speaking with Linda. She is the senior campaigner for Justice for Animals.
In response to a request for more information, Baltimore County Police Department spokeswoman Joy Stewart told WMAR in part, “this is an open investigation.” The detective then consulted with the State Attorney’s Office, which pursued criminal proceedings and charges were filed.
We knocked on the door of the house where the person in the video lives, but we got no answer.
The State Public Prosecutor’s Office informed us that there is an open arrest warrant against the suspects.
