Cat playfully heats up the engine for Zoomie’s top speed
Viewers were left stunned after watching a cat’s unconventional method of zoomies that made her walk at the speed of light.
Lola, a 2-year-old cat, went from zero to 60 running around the house with her buzzing at full blast. An article from Hill’s Pets stated that cat zoomies are a burst of energy that can occur after a long nap, their hunting instinct, or after using the litter box. But instead of just blasting away at full speed, Lola likes to warm up the engine in a specific way.
His method for gaining maximum speed involves placing his hind legs on the wall and pushing off, as seen in the May 2 Instagram video, which was shared on the @josephinescats account.
The caption says: “It is important to warm up the engine to reach high speed.”
Lola’s owner, Josephine, said News week via Instagram that he started noticing Lola pushing against the wall when buying a specific toy for her. She would “hunt” for the toy, tracking it and waiting minutes before attacking it. His slow, calculated method usually left Josephine’s arms sore from moving and hiding the toy for Lola.
“To gain speed for the attack, she always rolled and one day she also started to lean her legs against the wall!” Josefina said. “She does this most of the time when she has Zoom and also when we play with her.”
Lola’s hilarious and adorable method for maximum zoomies mildly resonated with the other cats in the house. Josephine said she caught one of the foster cats that lived there recently imitating the shoving. However, the other cat Rosie doesn’t do this. At least not yet.
Zoomies are a great way for owners to bond with their cats and tire them out. However, owners should monitor this in case any unusual behavior indicates something is wrong. Signs may include weight loss, changes in litter box use, and unusual vocalization.
Viewer reactions
In one week, the Instagram video reached almost 900 thousand views, more than 38 thousand likes and 80 comments.
“Wow, your cat unlocked a serious level!” said one viewer, while another commented: “Getting good traction to go really FAST!!”
A third user added: “I can see the smoke from the engine.”
