Cache Humane, Utah Festival Opera Partner to Offer Half-Price Tickets to ‘Cats’ | News
LOGAN – The Cache Humane Society and the Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre have partnered to offer half-price pairs of tickets to the upcoming production of Cats at the Ellen Eccles Theater.
All potential theatergoers need to do to qualify for 50 percent off their tickets to Cats adopt a cat or kitten from your local animal shelter during the musical’s run, now through August 3.
To be fair to all our four-legged pets, the offer is also being extended to anyone adopting a puppy or dog during the same period.
With a soundtrack by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Cats is a sung-through musical based on the 1939 poetry collection entitled “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats” by T. S. Elliot.
The musical tells the story of a tribe of cats and the night they must decide which of them will ascend to the Celestial Layer and return with a new life.
The large musical cast will star Adrien Swenson as Grizabella. Ms. Swenson is familiar to local audiences, having previously been seen here in UFOMT productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and in Elton John’s Aida.
Cache Humane officials say all a foster family needs to do is present their foster code when calling or visiting the Utah Festival box office to receive half off the regular ticket price.
The UFOMT box office is located at 59 South, 100 West in the Dansante Building. The phone number is 435-750-0300.
The adoption fee for cats (six months and older) at Cache Humane is $60 and for kittens (under six months) is $75. The fee includes spay/neuter service for the animal, microchipping, and regular vaccinations up to the date of adoption for cats and up to their first birthday for kittens.
